Solution for Premature Lining Failure
Abtrex was involved in the emergency project for 2.6 GW power plant. The previous vendor used wrong type of rubber material which resulted in premature failure of the lining.
Abtrex Industries was able to replace natural rubber with good resistance Chlorobutyl rubber giving the equipment long lasting protection.
Pipe Scanning, Fabrication and Lining
Abtrex Industries 3D laser-scanned existing pipes to create drawings and fabricated 124 steel pipes to +/- 1/16“ tolerance.
The lining chosen for this project was reliable 1/4”, 60A durometer, black Chlorobutyl rubber. All of the pipes were autoclave cured in our 10′ diameter 40′ long autoclave, and spark tested for pinholes and durometer hardness according ASTM standards.

Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) pipe
Piping used in the process to remove sulfur dioxide (S02) from exhaust gases of fossil-fuel power plants and other sulfur-emitting processes.
Natural Rubber-Lined Tanks
Vessels lined with an elastic material that is obtained from the latex sap of trees (especially Hevea and Ficus) that can be vulcanized.
Synthetic Rubber-Lined Tanks
Vessels lined with any of various products that resemble natural rubber in physical property and ability to be vulcanized. Synthetic is superior for some applications and inferior for others.
Hoppers
A storage container for bulk material, typically one that tapers downward to allow discharge of contents at the bottom.
Slurry Pipe
Piping used to transport mineral concentrate from a mineral processing plant.

A storage or processing vessel used to house a myriad of acid types

Manufactured containers used to hold liquids or compressed gases usually under atmospheric pressure.
